As part of the events that are associated with the Nasser bin Hamad Third Ramadan Sports Championships 2017 (Nasser 10), the High Organizing Committee in collaboration with Footballization , the national organizer of the Football Five World Championship 2017, will be hosting and organizing the Hamad and Mohammed bin Nasser 5-Aside Football Championship 2017, which will identify the team that will participate in the F5WC World Finals that will take place in China in 2017. The Bahrain Football Association will host the Championship’s draw at 5:00 PM on Sunday 2 April 2017.
The Championship is regarded as one of the unique initiatives that is being launched as part of the Nasser bin Hamad Third Ramadan Sports Championship 2017 (Nasser 10) as it is part of a global initiative that aims to identify promising talent within amateur football players by hosting a local tournament that allows teams of seven players, one coach and one administrator to compete in a qualifying tournament that will see the winner receive the right to participate in the world finals, which will take place in China this year.
The Championship aims to identify local talent and rising stars and will be carried out as part of celebrating ten years since the launch of the first version of the Nasser bin Hamad Third Ramadan Sports Championship 2017 (Nasser 10), between 4 April and 12 April. The Championship also aims to provide official sports clubs with the opportunity to find new talent to add to their roasters.
Participation of 32 Teams
The High Organizing Committee of Nasser 10 and Footballization announced the participation of 32 teams in the Hamad and Mohammed bin Nasser 5-Aside Football Championship 2017 following meeting the eligibility criteria that has been set for all players, which are that the player is not registered in the Bahrain Football Association and official sports club, the player must be 16 years of age or older and that the player is a resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Outdoor Football Fields
The Championship will take place in the outdoor football fields that belong to the Bahrain Football Association and the football fields will be prepared to host the football matches by the High Organizing Committee in collaboration with Footballization.
Within the framework of cooperation, the Bahrain Football Association will be providing official referees to officiate matches as per the rules and regulations of the F5WC World Finals.
The Championship’s qualifying round will be played between the 4 and 7 of April while the Championship’s finals will be played on 10 and 11 of April.
Alam: Proud of the Organization
The Managing Director of Footballization Mr. Murtadha Alam commented on organizing the Championship as part of Nasser 10, “We are proud to cooperate with the High Organization Committee of Nasser 10 to organize the Hamad and Mohammed bin Nasser 5-Aside Football Championship 2017 as part of Nasser 10 as this tournament [Nasser 10] is closely monitored and receives the attention of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and to support the High Organizing Committee in its endeavors towards providing a unique experience as part of the 10 year anniversary of launching the first version of the tournament [Nasser 10].”
Alam continued, “We have selected the name of the Championship to carry the names of HH Shaikh Nasser’s children as a sign of personal gratitude to Shaikh Nasser for the amount of dedication and energy that he has placed towards supporting youth and sports in the kingdom and we will be working towards having a successful Championship along with the support of the High Organizing Committee.”
Alam continued, “We have concluded several meetings with the High Organizing Committee and have determined numerous points and ideas that will be implemented in the Championship to guarantee its success as there will be 32 teams that will compete for the qualifying ticket and we hope that the Championship will be unique in terms of organization and that teams convey strong competition.’
He added, “Our choice to organize a national five-a-side football championship stems from our initiatives towards our social responsibility as a company, in which we hope to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain in the world finals as well as shed light on the talent of youth and gifted players by providing them with the opportunity to compete in a local tournament and later on, on an international stage.”
The Final, a festival
Alam also conveyed that the company will aim to host numerous events in the Championship’s Final to attract fans, “The company has an idea of converting the final match into a festival to attract fans and these will be announced in due time.”
